St Dunstan's Anglican Church Camberwell

Welcome to our 12th edition of Abundance.

Our August cover is a picture of Lanercost Priory in Cumbria, England. Kate and George Will visited the priory in June this year and purchased this postcard as a memento of their visit. Kate writes: “Lanercost Priory is situated close to the Scottish border and was vulnerable to attack during the Anglo-Scottish war of the 14th century. It is a place of peace and tranquillity and is used as a parish church for worship. You can feel a sense of the past.”

Thanks to all those who have volunteered their time, effort and talents to the various working groups. Instead of having a Parish Council meeting in August, the groups are being asked to have their first meeting and report to the September meeting of Parish Council. There is still time to join a group so please have another look at what you might be able to offer for the groups detailed on the back noticeboard.

A reminder that the Children’s Ministry working group is meeting after the 9.30am service on 18 August. This is open to everyone interested in developing our relationship with young families.

Other Notices

We will revert to 8am and 9.30am Sunday morning services from August. The first Sunday of each month will continue to be a combined service at 9am. An amended roster has been drawn up to accommodate this change. Where there are gaps, please bridge them as you are able.

Loving and faithful God,

We thank You for all we have and share as a parish community.

Continue to bless us, we pray, the people of St Dunstan’s.

May we be faithful stewards of your Word and Sacraments and committed to advancing Your Kingdom in the world in which we live.

Grant us discernment and wisdom, as we seek to do your will in this local community.

Equip us with what we need and enable us to utilise the gifts You provide to fulfil our calling.

Help us to grow – in faithfulness, compassion, commitment, humility and generosity – that we may serve You more fully.

These things we pray in Jesus’ name.
